People rescued from SF Bay after sailboat capsizes
People rescued from SF Bay after sailboat capsizes reports a rescue operation in San Francisco Bay involving three sailboat passengers. Authorities said the sailboat capsized near San Mateo on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., after a call for water rescue was received by the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit during training near the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge. Two boat crews were dispatched to an area near the Coyote Point Recreation Area, about half a mile east of San Francisco International Airport. The Marine Unit rescued three people clinging to the overturned vessel, and the sheriff’s office said they appeared uninjured but were shaking from exposure to the water. They were transported to Coyote Point Marina, where San Mateo Consolidated Fire and EMS assessed them as a precaution. The boat was recovered and towed to the marina.
