Plym Yacht Club Yacht Havens Friday Series 3 Review
Plym Yacht Club closed its Summer evening racing with the final Friday Series this week in Plymouth, sponsored by Yacht Havens. Twenty-two boats competed across both fleets, with plenty of DNCs as many PYC crews were split among regattas around the south-west. John Lewis’ Squib Bootneck delivered a “clean set” of wins and top-four finishes to take the Overall YTC, finishing second on countback behind Kevin Palfreeman and Anthony Kehoe’s Zulu, both on 9 points. Seven of the 11 starters scored a podium result, underlining how competitive the Friday night fleet was. In IRC, Dominic Hanley’s Stitch and Ann & Keith Whitfield’s Tilted each won Series 1 and 2, setting up a Plymouth Sound Cup showdown until Tilted was ruled out by a dismasting at the Dartmouth Regatta. Stitch won the series on seven points, with Crescendo second on countback, Melges 24 third, and Haku fourth.
