Police seek to identify protesters behind Portsmouth anti-migrant disorder

Police are trying to identify protesters involved in an anti-migrant disorder in Portsmouth after the Home Office decided to bring migrants to shore following their crossing from France via the English Channel. Portsmouth City Council said the Home Office still has “serious questions to answer,” calling the move “needless disruption.” About 200 people, some wearing masks, confronted officers in riot gear around the Eastney Landing ferry port area, blocking traffic and stopping coaches parked near Eastney Marina. A dispersal order was issued, allowing arrests for noncompliance. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a few officers were treated for injuries that were not serious and that no arrests had been made; an investigation is under way. Footage from Danny Tommo, linked to far-right activist Tommy Robinson, circulated as Border Force confirmed transportation for processing outside Hampshire.
