Local sports across the Monroe County Region produced several standout performances on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. In cross country relays, New Boston Huron won the girls Division 1 title with 21 points, followed by Dearborn Divine Child (38) and Airport (48). St. Mary Catholic Central (SMCC) captured the girls Division 2 crown with 64 points. Huron’s top finishers included Zoey Cheney and Grace Pacheco (third) and Isa Vargo and Kayla Christesen (fifth). In prep volleyball, Whiteford beat Summerfield 3-0, led by Macy Ovall’s 22 kills and Addy Hill’s 33 assists, while Bedford’s Kennadi Goulet recorded 28 kills in a match sweep.
