UK's Aberdeen names ex-Sampo CEO Magnusson as next chair

Aberdeen, the UK asset manager (ABDN.L), has named Torbjörn Magnusson as chair-designate and non-executive director, effective immediately, according to a statement published on Wednesday. Magnusson previously served as chief executive of Nordic insurer Sampo (SAMPO.HE). The appointment follows Aberdeen’s decision to bring fresh leadership to its board as it continues to operate in a volatile investment environment.
