Route 550 closed for pipe replacement in Centre County

PennDOT has closed Route 550 at its intersection with Route 3003 in Patton Township, Centre County, starting Monday, Aug. 10. The closure is to allow crews to replace a pipe as part of routine maintenance, with a detour route provided via Fillmore Road, Route 3005, Route 3007, Interstate 99, and Route 3042. PennDOT expects the work to take about two days. The department says replacing the pipe will prevent uncontrolled water flow that could damage the pavement, while also helping extend the road’s service life. Motorists are advised to use the detour during the closure window.
