Scott Harris Claims Victory at the 2026 Don Trask International Masters Regatta

Skipper Scott Harris, from Coronado Yacht Club, won the 2026 Don Trask International Masters Regatta after 10 races over three days on South San Diego Bay. Sailing with crew Gary Weisman, Chuck Sinks, Jon Rogers, Al Pleskus and Peter Van Waay, Harris finished with 48 points, edging out Bill Menninger of Newport Harbor Yacht Club by three (51). Mark Foster, representing Lake Canyon Yacht Club and Storm Trysail Club, took third with 55 points. The event, hosted by San Diego Yacht Club, is an invitational race for skippers aged 60 and older, sailed in J/105s. Conditions ranged from light and shifting on Friday to a steadier southwesterly breeze on Saturday and Sunday. Harris’ consistency, finishing top four in six races, proved decisive in a tight points battle.
