Hundreds of protesters gathered in Gosport, Hampshire, after social media rumors claimed authorities planned to disembark asylum seekers there. The rally was associated with anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas, who calls himself “Danny Tommo,” and who was filmed earlier slashing an inflatable dinghy in the Channel while a rescue worker was onboard. Police arrested six people Tuesday night, including two outsiders from Salisbury aged 19 and 36, on suspicion of aggravated trespass. Separately, a boat carrying 51 people docked in Dover after 33 hours at sea, and there was no plan to land them in Gosport.
