Southeast Asian owners bring new crewboat designs to market
Southeast Asian owners bring new crewboat designs to market reports a regional push for next-generation crew transfer vessels, led by Indonesia’s PT Wintermar Offshore Marine (WINS). The company is expanding into aluminium-hulled fast crewboats after acquiring full ownership of Fast Offshore Supply (FOS) Pte Ltd. WINS confirmed that in June 2026 it increased its stake in FOS by buying a 52.5% shareholding, and also acquired 49% of PT Fast Offshore Indonesia (FOI), taking full control of both FOS and its subsidiary FOI. For Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP), FOS won an international tender in 2025 to supply five aluminium crew transfer vessels, delivered in 2027, with an initial five-year charter and options to extend. Designed by Australia’s Incat Crowther, the 55m vessels can carry 80 passengers and 150 tonnes at up to 30 knots, with DP2, a motion-compensated gangway, and a four-engine Cat/Caterpillar power setup totaling 9,000 bhp, plus Hamilton HT810 waterjets. A follow-on contract for five more units is scheduled through 2028.
