TAIPEI TIMES》 Investigators seize boats in probe into aides escape
Investigators in Taiwan seized two fishing boats in Keelung as part of a probe after a legislative aide jumped bail in September and reportedly fled by boat. The Taiwan Coast Guard Administration sent a patrol vessel near Pengjia Islet to intercept a boat suspected of being used to transport Chang Chun-chieh (張俊傑), former office director for independent Legislator May Chin (高金素梅). The captain agreed to return for questioning; investigators searched the vessel but found no prohibited items and did not locate Chang aboard. A second boat was seized at Jhengbin Fishing Harbor, and its data recorder was handed to the Fisheries Agency. Ocean Affairs Council Minister Kuan Bi-ling said prosecutors have not yet confirmed whether the vessels were directly linked to Chang.
