Teen fisherman catches a what? He knew, and it's a state record

A Florida teenager has landed a rare jaguar guapote that has now become a new state record. Xzavier Peon was fishing with live bait in the Westwood Lakes area when he thought he had hooked a peacock bass. Instead, the fish that came up was a jaguar guapote, also known as the jaguar cichlid. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission biologists certified his catch at 3.02 pounds and 16 inches, breaking a nine-year-old record. The species is native to Central America and is among 34 nonnative freshwater fish established in Florida.
