These NY beaches are closed ahead of perfect beach day

Several beaches on Long Island have been closed to swimming, with many more under strict water-quality advisories, as elevated bacteria levels follow heavy rainfall over Sunday and Monday. Hewlett Beach and Ronkonkoma Beach are closed on Tuesday due to the contamination risk.
