This California lake was ranked one of the best fishing holes in the U.S.

Fishing Booker, described as the world’s largest online marketplace for booking fishing trips, ranked U.S. lakes by angler demand using proprietary data from summer 2025 to summer 2026. Lake Michigan took top spot for its shoreline spanning four states, while Lake Erie placed second due to shallow, warm waters that support walleye and perch. Missouri’s Table Rock Lake finished third, followed by Lake Texoma (Texas/Oklahoma), Lake Ontario (New York), Lake Huron (Michigan), Lake Superior, Lake Pontchartrain (Louisiana), Lake Tohopekaliga (Florida) and Lake St. Clair (Michigan). California did not make the Top 10, but Lake Tahoe—on the Nevada border—was ranked 11th overall out of 47.
