UFC Pound for Pound Rankings: Alexander Volkanovski, Petr Yan shine at UFC 333 - CBS Sports

Alexander Volkanovski and Petr Yan delivered standout performances at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, setting the tone for the promotion’s pound-for-pound discussion. In the main event, the 38-year-old Volkanovski stopped undefeated Movsar Evloev inside two rounds, following recent momentum after back-to-back stoppage losses to Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria. The win further solidified Volkanovski’s featherweight legacy, surpassing Jose Aldo for the most featherweight title wins in UFC history and matching Aldo’s mark for 145-pound title defenses. The co-main event featured a five-round trilogy where Merab Dvalishvili used relentless pace and a new UFC record of 58 takedown attempts, but Yan rallied to win the last three rounds.
