A vacant Tommy’s Boats showroom on US-131 in Plainfield Township, Michigan, is being eyed for redevelopment as a year-round food hall and event venue. The Plainfield Township Planning Commission, at its July 28 meeting, recommended approval of a request to expand permitted uses for the two-acre property at 247 Morrissey Drive. Buildings that housed Tommy’s Boats have been vacant since 2024, after the Grand Rapids-based dealer filed for bankruptcy. Ibex Development Group plans to repurpose the existing structure, parking area, and a glass tower for The Park Collective, featuring multiple vendors, shared dining, lawn games, and a managed beverage program, plus 100 off-street spaces. The board is set to consider the proposal Sept. 14.
