First responders found a 27-foot pontoon boat overturned just offshore from YMCA Camp on Deer Island; it collided with a barge, according to the report. Three victims were initially found clinging to the boat, while three others were missing, leading to a large-scale search and rescue operation. The recovered victims were identified as Ashley Monson, 37; Nicholas Loechler, 46; and Manuel De Angel-Sola, 52, all from Wabasha, Minnesota. Two were firefighters with the Wabasha Fire Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources leads the investigation.
