Woman left fighting for her life after being hit by a boat while tubing on California river
A woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run boating crash on California’s Colorado River after being struck by a boat while tubing on an inner tube near Needles. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said deputies from its Marine Enforcement Unit responded to reports of a serious boating accident around 7 p.m. on Saturday, just north of Needles Bridge. Authorities reported the victim suffered serious injuries and was flown to a hospital in Las Vegas. On Tuesday, a department spokesperson told People that the woman was in stable condition, while investigators worked to identify the responsible parties. Investigators have not yet identified the boat or any suspects, and the circumstances remain under investigation. The announcement came amid other water-related incidents, including a separate sneaker-wave fishing accident and a jet ski crash involving an arrested operator.
