Woman sought in theft of Shreveport judicial campaign signs
The Shreveport Police Department is seeking help identifying a woman suspected of stealing multiple political campaign signs across Shreveport, Louisiana. The investigation began after a complaint filed on June 17 reported that several signs promoting a candidate for Shreveport City Court judge were taken from public locations. Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the intersection of Greenwood Road and Jewella Avenue, which reportedly shows a white woman wearing a dress and black heels removing four campaign signs. Investigators said she placed the signs in the trunk of a dark-colored Mercedes-Benz before leaving the area. Police also reported that the suspect allegedly told a witness she was targeting the complainant’s campaign signs and planned to remove them from multiple locations. Authorities are examining other reported sign thefts to determine whether the same woman is responsible, and they note that signs placed legally are private property and removing them without permission may constitute theft.
