Aion’s UT, an electric hatchback from the Chinese brand expanding in the UK, is being pitched around ownership costs and warranties rather than excitement. The range uses a single powertrain: a 60kWh LFP battery offering 268 miles WLTP, with a 201bhp front-wheel-drive motor and a 0-62mph time of 7.3 seconds. Pricing starts at £28,950, while the UT Premium Pack sits at £30,150. Aion bundles eight years’ warranty for car and battery, eight years of roadside assistance, servicing and MOTs. The main drawbacks highlighted are slower DC charging (max 87kW; 10-80% in 32 minutes) and complicated touchscreen controls paired with problematic ADAS.
