Bentley's New Model Could Share Porsche Cayenne Electric DNA
Bentley’s New Model Could Share Porsche Cayenne Electric DNA: Bentley has released teaser imagery of a new model line called the Torcal, suggesting a prototype SUV and its first fully electric production vehicle. The full reveal is scheduled for September 23, with Bentley calling the Torcal a vehicle designed to set “extraordinary benchmarks” across key areas. Reports indicate it will use an electric dual-motor setup on an 800-volt architecture, similar to the Porsche Cayenne Electric. The article notes that Bentley is owned by Volkswagen, which also has a controlling interest in Porsche, making platform sharing plausible. If the Torcal matches Cayenne EV figures cited by Porsche—0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, 13.2-second quarter mile, 143 mph top speed, 435 hp, and 113 kWh battery—it would represent a significant performance benchmark. Bentley has not confirmed final specs yet.
