Building a Cheap BMW M5 -- The Insane Transformation

A $7,500 restomod project is transforming a neglected BMW E60 M5 into a more capable performance car after fresh paint and power upgrades. The build’s final stages, described in a project transcript, focus on suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires. The entire front suspension is replaced with KW Variant 1 coilovers set for a moderate ride-height reduction, using Pro Series OE+ components where aging factory parts showed cracked rubber. Braking is refreshed with Zimmermann rotors and TechArt pads via an FCP Euro package. Wheels and fitment are tested extensively before settling on Advan RZDF2 titanium-silver wheels with a polished lip and Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires.
