Car found partially submerged off of Conimicut Point
A car found partially submerged off Conimicut Point Beach has prompted a Warwick Police investigation. Officers arrived around 10:30 p.m. Friday and located the vehicle roughly 50 to 75 feet offshore, in the stretch between Conimicut Point and the public boat ramp. The discovery triggered a coordinated response from police and fire crews along the shoreline to assess whether anyone was in danger. The Warwick Fire Department conducted an immediate surface search and reported no people visible in the water. Authorities said the owner of the car is cooperating with investigators, and there have been no public updates on possible causes or circumstances leading to the incident. The case remains under investigation by Warwick Police as of Friday night, and detectives may review surveillance footage and nearby activity as the inquiry continues.
