Dead, 1 seriously injured after motorcycle crashes into semi truck on Oregon highway

A motorcyclist died after crashing into a semi truck on Oregon’s Highway 20 on Saturday, according to Oregon State Police. The crash occurred just before 9:45 a.m. near milepost 255 in Malheur County. A white Peterbilt semi-truck towing a trailer was traveling west when its driver attempted a left turn onto Siphon Drive. A black Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driven by 67-year-old John Platt, attempted to pass and struck the truck’s driver-side area. Platt was pronounced dead at the scene, while the motorcycle passenger was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The semi-truck driver was not injured.
