Dutch Startup Wants to Build a Supercar You'll Straddle Instead of Sit In
Dutch startup Sanrivatti says it wants to rethink how drivers experience supercars by building a vehicle you “straddle” rather than sit in. The Netherlands-based company is developing what it calls the “Apex Position,” a motorcycle-style seating setup that, according to its plans, will improve awareness, balance, and the driver’s connection during acceleration, braking, and cornering. Sanrivatti CEO Santiago Sánchez Rivero told Top Gear that on a motorcycle, rider and machine move together, while today’s performance cars separate them through architecture and systems. The article notes that key technical details are still undisclosed, including construction, powertrain, and a firm reveal date. Top Gear reports Sanrivatti’s staff includes veterans from McLaren, Lotus, Bentley, and Singer. Comparisons are made to earlier efforts such as Carver’s leaning three-wheeler, Mercedes-Benz’s F400 Carving concept, and vehicles like the Ariel Atom and BAC Mono.
