EVs At 37.7% Share In Germany - Tesla Model Y Leads: Plugin electric vehicles reached a 37.7% market share in Germany in Q2 2026, up from 28.6% in Q2 2025, with battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) at 26.5% and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) at 11.2%. The overall auto volume in Q1 2026 totaled 784,989 units, up about 6% year-over-year. BEV sales grew by more than 53% year-over-year, supported by an improved incentive policy and high oil prices linked to the conflict involving Iran, according to the report. Tesla’s Model Y led all BEVs in Q2 2026 with 10,401 registrations, reclaiming first place after Q1 2024. Volkswagen’s ID.3 followed with 10,082, up from third in Q1, while the Skoda Elroq took third with 9,739. Petrol and diesel shares continued falling year-over-year, narrowing the combustion-only segment toward about 25% later this year.
