FIA appeal court to have final say on Gasly's Monaco GP podium
xCruzo Brief
The FIA’s international court of appeal will meet in Paris on Tuesday to deliver a final ruling on who finished third in the Monaco Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly of Alpine crossed the line third on June 7 but was demoted to seventh after stewards applied two five-second penalties for pit-lane speeding, which promoted Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar. That decision was reversed on June 12 when stewards accepted Alpine’s Renault-backed evidence of a timekeeping error and removed the penalties, with Hadjar handing the trophy back to Gasly. McLaren and Red Bull appealed on June 16, arguing the process raised fairness and sporting-integrity concerns. The FIA says the hearing will be confidential at its headquarters.
