Ford issues recalls for 780,000 popular cars: See affected models
Ford has issued two recalls covering about 780,000 vehicles, according to documents filed with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). One recall, filed June 24, affects approximately 741,195 vehicles, including 2018-2021 Lincoln Navigators, 2018-2021 Ford Expeditions, 2020-2021 Explorers, 2020-2021 Aviators, and 2021 Ford F-150s, due to a transmission defect that may prevent vehicles from staying engaged in park after the driver shifts. Ford cited more than 200 reports, as of May 2026, of vehicles rolling after being shifted to park, unable to shift into park, or getting stuck. Owners are instructed to use the emergency brake when parking until repairs. The second recall also filed June 24 covers about 36,046 2022-2026 Ford Broncos for potential fender flare detachment while driving; Ford noted rattling or clicking at high speeds may indicate an issue. Repairs are free at Ford dealerships.
