Freeman's bunt drives in go-ahead run, Carrigg has 3 RBIs as...
Tyler Freeman’s eighth-inning sacrifice bunt sparked a late rally as the Colorado Rockies beat the Boston Red Sox 8-6 on Wednesday in Denver. After Mickey Moniak and Willi Castro singled off Justin Slaten to put runners on first and third with the game tied 6-6, Freeman bunted along the first-base line to score Moniak and move Colorado ahead. Cole Carrigg added to the comeback with a run-scoring double, finishing with three RBIs. Colorado starter Kyle Freeland allowed six runs and 11 hits, with the Red Sox leading 3-0 after two innings and 6-3 after five, but the Rockies tied the game in a three-run seventh featuring RBI singles by Carrigg, Jake McCarthy and Troy Johnston. The win included two scoreless innings from Antonio Senzatela and Jimmy Herget’s second save in a hitless ninth. In separate games, Miami topped Texas 4-2 and Chicago swept New York in a doubleheader.
