Genesis received U.S. design patent grants for two versions of its X Gran lineup: the X Gran Coupe and the X Gran Convertible. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted design patents in August 2026—US D1,144,037 S for the two-door hardtop and US D1,138,892 S for the open-top body—covering ornamental exterior design only. Genesis filed the applications on July 29, 2025, claiming priority from a South Korean design filing dated March 19, 2025. A convertible patent was granted on August 4, 2026, followed three weeks later by the coupe on August 25. While the brand has hinted at a two-door grand tourer, the patents don’t confirm powertrains or production approval. Rumors place the pair between $120,000 and $160,000.
