George Boughey: Britain's most exciting young trainer
George Boughey, now 34, has emerged as Britain’s most exciting young trainer after a slow start to his campaign in 2019, when he had two winners at a 5.5% strike rate. Over the past seven years since his debut, he has recorded more than 500 winners and a 50% strike rate in the Classics, with two wins and two seconds. He has also outgrown two yards and has become the youngest trainer in recent times to win both the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas, with Bow Echo now positioned as the stable’s key runner at Glorious Goodwood this week. Bow Echo is unbeaten and could prove himself as a top three-year-old miler in Wednesday’s Qatar Sussex Stakes. Boughey praised the horse’s temperament and preparation, noting the work leading to the Guineas and the data behind its pace and recovery.
