Noah Kahan slams White House for using song American Cars on social media post

Noah Kahan criticized U.S. President Donald Trump and White House officials for using his song “American Cars” as the soundtrack for a social media post. On Monday, a government representative shared an Instagram and TikTok slideshow showing Trump visiting General Motors in Michigan and Detroit. The post used Kahan’s track, “American Cars,” from his fourth studio album The Great Divide, and included the caption “Made in America is BACK,” along with claims about past presidents and jobs. On Tuesday, Kahan, 29, wrote he would “never approve” of his music being used in support of Trump or the administration. The audio was removed from Instagram but remained on TikTok. Artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Katy Perry have also protested prior uses of their music by the White House.
