Honda Getting Back into its Element by 2029
Honda plans to revive the Element crossover in North America as early as the second quarter of 2029, targeting the outdoor-adventure SUV segment and aiming to capture a growing share of adventure-focused buyers. According to Automotive News, the boxy model will be positioned in size between the HR-V and CR-V, and production is expected to begin in Ohio during Q2 2029. While built in the U.S., Honda intends to export the vehicle to other markets, alongside models such as the Passport TrailSport Elite and the Acura Integra Type S. Honda expects first-year production to reach 100,000 units, citing sources familiar with the plant. The article notes the original Element was discontinued in 2011 and raises questions about whether the move is driven by nostalgia or by an identified market gap, including Honda already having the Passport TrailSport in its lineup.
