Honda Just Had Its Best July Since Before the Pandemic: TDS

Honda logged its strongest July since before the pandemic, according to The Drive’s morning roundup, The Downshift (TDS), dated Tuesday, August 4, 2026. American Honda sales across the Honda and Acura brands rose 12.8%, while Honda’s sedans jumped 35.7%. Combined, the two brands sold 124,553 units, and the last time Honda had a better-performing July was 2019. The roundup also reports that some of Aston Martin’s creditors have threatened legal action over a new debt financing arrangement involving BlackRock subsidiary HPS, tied to licensing the Aston Martin name. Volvo plans to increase XC60 output at its Charleston, South Carolina plant by adding 20,000 vehicles to an existing 30,000 annual build.
