Hyundai plans to launch a new electric D-segment SUV positioned slightly above the IONIQ 5, aiming to expand an all-electric lineup as part of its broader shift toward AI, software and batteries. The roadmap was outlined at Hyundai’s 2026 CEO Investor Day, where CEO José Muñoz said the company intends to sell 5.5 million vehicles globally by 2030 (up from 4.1 million in 2025). Electrified vehicles—including hybrids, fully electric models and extended-range EVs—are targeted to make up 60% of sales, up from 23% in 2025. Hyundai and Genesis plan 100 new or refreshed vehicles by 2030, including 58 in North America and 41 in Europe.
