Hyundai Staria Lounge hybrid review
Hyundai’s updated Staria has introduced its first hybrid version in the top-spec Lounge grade, adding a new option for buyers comparing seven-seat people movers such as the Volkswagen Multivan, Ford Tourneo, and Kia Carnival. The review describes the model as an updated 2026 variant, referred to by Hyundai as an MY27, and says it represents the biggest change to the Staria since its 2021 launch. The hybrid arrives within a reshaped lineup that includes petrol and diesel Staria variants with eight seats, alongside this single hybrid grade for the seven-seat Staria Lounge. Pricing places the Lounge at $73,740 before on-road costs, and a test vehicle with options was priced at $74,340 before on-road. Diesel and petrol entry-grade “Staria” versions for 2026 are $54,300 plus ORCs. The Lounge sits near the Ford Tourneo Titanium X diesel at $72,490 plus ORCs, but below the Kia Carnival GT-Line HEV at $76,840 plus ORCs, which uses the same hybrid powertrain.
