Jaguar reveals $130K electric vehicle two years after failed 'woke' rebrand video

Jaguar has unveiled its first step toward becoming a fully electric brand: the Type 01, an electric grand tourer starting at $130,500 in the U.S. The four-door model was revealed Tuesday night at an event in New York City attended by actor Florence Pugh and featuring singer Sienna Spiro. Jaguar says the Type 01 delivers a 400-mile range and can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, with frameless doors and a camera replacing a rear window. Orders open at the start of 2027, with deliveries expected in the second half. The launch comes two years after backlash over Jaguar’s “woke” rebrand and a Barbie-pink Type 00 concept.
