JPMorgan aims to deploy $750 billion into housing through 2035

JPMorgan said Monday it plans to deploy more than $750 billion into U.S. housing through 2035 as part of its American Dream Initiative, aimed at boosting supply and supporting homeownership. The bank intends to increase mortgage lending by more than 40%, targeting financing for homes for over 500,000 customers. JPMorgan also links the housing push to broader local economic growth, including expanded small-business lending and improved access to healthcare. The bank cited a subdued U.S. housing market, where high borrowing costs and steep prices have kept many buyers on the sidelines. The effort is guided by Michelle Herrick, head of commercial real estate.
