Deshawn Purdie threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns as Liberty rallied for 24 unanswered points in the second half to beat Coastal Carolina 34-17 on Thursday night in Conway, S.C. Kam Davis added 166 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Flames (3-1), who went ahead 27-17 early in the third. That stretch began with Purdie’s 15-yard scramble on third-and-16 and continued with Ethan Vasko’s 8-yard sneak on fourth-and-1. Liberty scored on its first three drives of the half. The defense has not allowed a fourth-quarter touchdown in four games. Coastal’s Deuce Bailey had 213 passing yards and two touchdowns but two interceptions, including his first of the season on his second attempt.
