xCruzo Brief

Marco Bezzecchi was taken to hospital for further evaluation after reporting “severe pain” following a high-speed crash at the MotoGP Dutch Grand Prix. After initial tests at the circuit’s medical centre showed no early signs of “major neurological or systemic complications,” doctors decided he needed transport for more thorough examinations. The factory Aprilia rider, who had lost the championship lead after his third non-score in three weekends, will undergo comprehensive scans to rule out injuries. Aprilia said he remained fully conscious, with normal mobility in all four limbs, during the initial assessment carried out with MotoGP medical director Dr Angel Charte. He was transferred to Groningen Hospital (Universitair Medisch Centrum Groningen) due to the intensity of the pain from the high-energy impact. Bezzecchi crashed at Turn 15 after tucking the front-end of his Aprilia during the battle for third place. Before the Dutch GP, he was also affected by disciplinary events at the Czech GP.
