Monza memories - Italian Grand Prix in pictures through the years

This weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Monza draws from the circuit’s long-running legacy in Formula 1. Monza has hosted more races than any other track and has staged grand prix events in all but one year since the inaugural 1950 season; the only exception came in 1980 when the circuit was under renovation. Nestled in a royal park among woodland, Monza is known as the “cathedral of speed” and is closely tied to Ferrari and its passionate tifosi. The track is also where the first F1 world championship was decided 76 years ago, and last year Max Verstappen of Red Bull set the fastest lap in F1 history during qualifying.
