MotoGP Dutch GP: Ai Ogura scores maiden MotoGP win, Marco Bezzecchi crashes out
Ai Ogura took his maiden MotoGP win at the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen as an early crash ended Marco Bezzecchi’s run and handed the championship lead to his Aprilia teammate, Jorge Martin. Although Ogura dropped nearly 2.5 seconds behind the front early while battling for third with Marc Marquez, he steadily closed the gap. Bezzecchi lost the front of his Aprilia at the high-speed Turn 15 and crashed heavily into the barriers, removing a key title contender. After Martin and Ogura traded positions, Ogura built pressure and finally moved past Raul Fernandez at Turn 9 on lap 20, pulling away to win by two seconds. The win delivered a Trackhouse 1-2, while Martin’s third secured a seven-point championship advantage since Bezzecchi failed to score for a third consecutive Sunday. Separately, Francesco Bagnaia retired after a reported brake issue on lap 15, leaving Fabio di Giannantonio to finish fourth despite a long-lap penalty for going off track.
