MotoGP Results: Ai Ogura wins dramatic Dutch GP in Assen as Bezzecchi crashes out
Ai Ogura won a dramatic Dutch MotoGP race in Assen for his first ever victory, also delivering Japan’s first MotoGP win since 2004. The event unfolded in 2026 with a major turning point early: Marco Bezzecchi crashed at high speed in the opening laps and then exited the race, throwing away his championship lead. Ogura fought through the field after a close contest led by Jorge Martin earlier, and Trackhouse riders Raul Fernandez and Ogura moved forward as the race progressed. Ogura took the lead with five laps to go. Marc Marquez secured the podium in a chaotic finish, but later was passed by Bagnaia, who then retired due to a technical issue. Pedro Acosta also withdrew after technical problems, and Fabio Di Giannantonio received a long-lap penalty for exceeding track limits.
