MotoGP title contender to make last-minute Silverstone participation call
MotoGP title contender Marco Bezzecchi will make his British Grand Prix participation decision just a day before riders arrive at Silverstone. The Aprilia rider is recovering after injuries from recent incidents, including a broken collarbone after a qualifying high-side and knee work following a crash at the Sachsenring. His season began with three straight wins and a 17-point lead, but he has scored zero in four consecutive Grands Prix, dropping to fourth in the standings. Bezzecchi said he intends to race, but he must receive medical approval from MotoGP doctors on Thursday to be declared fit. He has already returned to training: on July 29, he did a four-session bike training event at Misano with Valentino Rossi and VR46 Academy riders. Meanwhile, teammate Jorge Martin enters the restart refreshed after the summer break.
