Motorcyclist dies after crash with pickup truck in Jacksonville

A motorcyclist died after a crash with a pickup truck Sunday evening, Oct. 11, in Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The rider, a man in his late 20s, was traveling north on Hodges Boulevard on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at about 10:15 p.m. Police said a silver Toyota Tacoma turned onto Hodges from Danforth Drive in front of the motorcycle, causing the rider to hit the truck’s rear. The motorcyclist was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue personnel. Through Oct. 8, Duval County recorded 22 motorcycle deaths in 322 crashes this year.
