New Audi A6 Allroad Is Bigger, Meaner, and a Damn Good Omen for the RS6 Avant

Audi has globally unveiled the next-generation A6 Allroad, a larger, more aggressive variant that also foreshadows the forthcoming RS6 Avant. The model features a wider stance, with 4.3 inches added in width, flared fenders, and a bold front end, with 19- to 20-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin pairs an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen beneath curved glass, plus a 10.9-inch passenger display and a real-volume knob on the center console. The exterior marks Audi's new design language, while the drivetrain details show the U.S. market may miss some options, as the turbodiesel V6 and likely the plug-in hybrid are not planned for America.

Under the hood, the global A6 Allroad aligns with the current A6 family, including a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 delivering about 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque with quattro all-wheel drive as standard. The diesel option and the plug-in hybrid are unlikely for the U.S., where diesel engines are fading from the market and homologation for electrified setups remains uncertain. The U.S. launch is planned for next year, positioning the Allroad as a showcase for Audi's latest design language and as a precursor to the RS6 Avant, with potential responses in other markets.
