Tulsa's Route 66 Capital Cruise Sets GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Mark

Tulsa's Route 66 Capital Cruise culminated in a Guinness World Records title, anchoring a nationwide centennial celebration of America's Mother Road. At approximately 11:52 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, Guinness adjudicator Michael Empric announced a final count of 3,596 classic cars, besting the previous record by 1,105. Drivers from 42 states, plus participants from Canada and France, joined the parade that stretched along Tulsa’s Route 66 corridor. Cars began leaving Expo Square at 8:00 a.m. and the final entry reached the adjudicator stage at Mother Road Market by 11:30 a.m. The announcement capped a year-long collaboration to host the world’s largest gathering of vintage vehicles for the centennial celebration.
