Toyota initiates recall for nearly 50K trucks

The NHTSA announced Toyota is recalling nearly 50,000 2024 Tundra pickups equipped with the V35A engine after debris from manufacturing could contaminate the engine and cause a main bearing failure, risking engine stall and reduced control. The recall covers 43,566 vehicles, with an estimated 1% affected. A remedy is in development and will be provided at no cost once available. Owner notification letters are expected to go out starting July 6, and the recall is being managed by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing.
