News Introduces the 2026 Best Adventure Vehicles
U.S. News & World Report has unveiled its inaugural 2026 Best Adventure Vehicles awards, highlighting campers, road-trippers and off-road explorers. The awards cover four segments: Best Vehicles for Camping, Best Vehicles for Road Trips, Best SUVs for Off-Roading and Best Trucks for Off-Roading. Winners were selected using category-specific methods that weigh capability, cargo space, comfort, fuel economy, adventure-friendly features and overall quality. John Vincent, senior editor of vehicle testing, said the awards aim to help shoppers find vehicles that are fun, capable and practical long-term travel companions. The results underscore growing interest in adventure-ready electrified options. Rivian dominated the electric off-road truck and SUV categories with the R1T and R1S, while the Hyundai Ioniq 9 won Best Electric SUV for both road-tripping and camping. In smaller vehicles, the Kia Niro won Best Subcompact Hybrid SUV for Road-Tripping and the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid was celebrated for Camping.
