Britain's smallest PHEV, new BYD Dolphin G supermini unveiled - ExBulletin

BYD's Dolphin G DM-i is the Chinese company's first Europe-specific model, introducing a full plug-in hybrid powertrain in a compact package built for the European market. At 4,160 millimetres in length, the Dolphin G is essentially a sibling to the Dolphin Surf EV and will go on sale in the UK this autumn with prices starting from under £20,000. The Dolphin G will compete with Renault Clio, VW Polo and Toyota Yaris, while BYD hints the new model could be produced at its Hungary plant as part of a broader European roll‑out. The system is expected to pair a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor driving the front wheels and promises a combined range well above 621 miles.
