Nissan Kicks crossover coming to Europe, and will be built in UK
xCruzo Brief
Nissan says it will bring the Kicks crossover to Europe with hybrid power, and build it at its Sunderland plant after an investment of £170 million. The B-segment model launched in 2016 with a focus on Brazil, while the second generation arrived in 2024 and is currently manufactured in Brazil, Japan and Mexico. Although the Kicks has not been sold in Europe before, it is offered across most of Nissan’s other global markets. The move adds combustion capacity at Sunderland alongside production of the Qashqai, the existing Juke and the all-electric Leaf. Nissan is also in talks with Chery about a potential Sunderland manufacturing deal, with up to six cars per facility.
